SCHEDULE: 40 Hours/week

RATE OF PAY: 19.35 per hour

Purpose/Function of Position: To provide education to the community regarding agency services, domestic violence (including stalking and dating violence) dynamics and prevention, and sexual violence dynamics and prevention.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Education

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

• To actively solicit, coordinate, and provide educational presentations to lead prevention efforts between community partners including social service agencies, substance abuse agencies, police departments, school districts, organizations outside of schools that directly serve youth, scouting, and faith-based communities in the implementation of activities to effect a social change in domestic violence.

• Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to appropriate constituency groups.

• Coordinate requests for community presentations and disseminate to organization staff if and as appropriate.

• Maintain an inventory of appropriate educational materials (i.e. brochures).

• Participate in the execution of primary prevention activities to include: educational seminars; training programs for professionals; preparation of informational materials; educational programs for college students and campus personnel; education about drugs used to facilitate domestic violence; and other efforts to help prevent and increase awareness of domestic violence, including awareness in underserved communities and among people serving the youth population.

• Monitor primary prevention activities and prepare reports of interventions conducted as requested.

• Network with community partners to enhance collaborative projects that strengthen primary prevention initiatives.

• Participate in the Coordinated Community Response Coalition(s) as appropriate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: General Administration

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Ensure that appropriate records are maintained for reporting requirements.

• Ensure that an accurate record of work hours, mileage, etc. is maintained.

• Ensure timely preparation of administrative documents and reports as requested/required by the supervisor.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Attend all meetings and training as directed by the supervisor.

• Maintain professional conduct and represent the Agency in a professional manner.

EDUCATION: Degree in human services field preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge regarding dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault; strong sense of teamwork and cooperation; excellent oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on public speaking and strong conflict resolution skills; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred; high level of personal integrity, diplomacy, discretion, and tact is necessary; computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office products. flexible with ability to work independently and exhibit creativity; able to manage multiple priorities concurrently and meet deadlines; non-traditional hours to include some evening and weekend hours required; some travel requiring a valid driver’s license and a personal, insured vehicle for use on the job required.

• Requires occasional twisting at desk when answering phone or keyboarding.

• Requires retrieving files by pulling and pushing cabinet drawers with occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder level.

• Requires frequent data entry into computer keyboard.

• Requires extensive speaking in person and on the telephone with staff and others.

• Requires occasional lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
