Shelter/Crisis Hotline

The Purple Door provides safe, emergency shelter to women, children, and men who are experiencing domestic violence and/or sexual violence. Individuals who seek safe, emergency shelter are admitted on a case-by-case basis when meeting with a Victim or Residential Advocate. The Purple Door does not turn any survivors away and there is no time limit for a client’s length of stay, with regard they maintain compliance with the agency’s shared living guidelines.

About the shelter:

The Purple Door’s shelter consists of 12 community bedrooms that have the capacity to house:
• Women
• Women and their children
• Men
• Men and their children
• Families

The Purple Door is equipped with a kitchen and provides the following meals to our residential clients:
• Breakfast
• Lunch
• Dinner
• Two snacks

All children residing in shelter have access to specific youth services to help them feel more comfortable in the shelter environment. The donation room is also available to clients in order to provide clothing, toiletries, shoes, diapers, and other needed items.
